ThinkPoint description
ThinkPoint is yet another rogue anti-spyware program which tries to convince you that your computer has been compromised. With the aid of trojan infections, spam emails and various websites it tends to be affiliated one can easily fall victim to this dubious application. Malware is distributed through the use of Microsoft Security Essentials Alert trojan. The trojan based software starts its activities as soon as it is on your computer.
Once installed it will display false system security warnings and then will prompt you to buy a “full” version of this program to remove threats that don’t even exist. For example:
The application taskmgr.exe was launched successfully but it was forced to shut down due to security reasons.
This happened because the application was infected by a malicious program which might pose a threat for the OS.
It is highly recommended to install the necessary heuristic module and perform a full scan of your computer to exterminate malicious programs from it.
Do not fall for this blatant scam. ThinkPoint will hide your desktop, Start button, Windows taskbar and your Windows Task Manager will be blocked as well. Do not take security threats for granted under any circumstances as ThinkPoint doesn’t have any properties of a legitimate optimization tool. Ignore all notifications malware shows but use decent anti-spyware application and terminate ThinkPoint upon detection.
